Who is the marketing agency supporting this project?

Cinnamon Toast, a full-service marketing agency based in both Hamilton and Ottawa, is the creative agency supporting this project.

Why did we opt to work with a creative agency from outside of the community? Shouldn't we have sought someone from within it?

Cinnamon Toast was procured through a fair and transparent Request for Proposals process in which local and national businesses alike were welcomed to participate. Cinnamon Toast was selected as the project vendor based upon the quality of its processes and the merits of its previous municipal branding work.

    What IS a brand, anyway?

A brand is much more than a logo — it’s a comprehensive package that includes visuals (imagery, colours, typography) and a cohesive, data-driven story about who we are, what we offer, and what we stand for.

What are the benefits of exploring an updated brand identity?

An updated brand identity can: Help differentiate our community from others nearby; highlight the unique and/or celebratory aspects of the community; generate a sense of shared pride amongst community members; help attract new businesses, investors, and visitors, stimulating economic growth; and create a cohesive platform from which marketing and communications activities can be built to promote Seguin.

    How can I get involved?

Stay tuned for a variety of ways that you can provide your input on both our social media channels, and this project page. We want as many people as possible to be able to provide their input, as any work Cinnamon Toast completes will be based upon the data and insights collected from those who live in, work in, and visit our community.

Why invest money in this branding exercise? Couldn't taxpayer funds be better used?

While a new brand may not seem necessary, it is an investment offering constant financial returns. A new or fresh brand distinguishes us from neighbouring towns and cities and provides a crucial framework for our marketing and advertising initiatives. Just as you can’t build a house without an architectural plan, a strong brand is essential for guiding our promotional efforts.

For example, a well-defined brand can enhance our website, making it more engaging and easier to navigate, while also strengthening our social media presence through consistent and compelling messaging. Additionally, a cohesive brand improves wayfinding within the community, helping visitors easily identify and connect with key attractions and services. These efforts lead to increased visits, overnight stays, and patronage in our establishments—all of which generate essential revenue that can be reinvested into the community. Over time, this brand becomes a valuable asset, driving economic growth and fostering community pride.
