November 21, 2023 UPDATE: Seguin Township Council adopted the Waste Management Strategy as presented by Dillon Consultants at the November 20 Meeting of Council.
Seguin Township is updating its Waste Strategy to explore how we can manage the growing community’s waste management needs over the next 20 years.
The Waste Strategy will consider options related to:
- The reuse and recovery of materials
- Infrastructure needed throughout the waste management system
- Policy and accessibility updates
- Programs to reduce the quantity of garbage going to landfill
- Issues such as illegal dumping
- Promotion, education and engagement to support the community in managing its waste.
To develop the Waste Strategy, the Dillon team will provide research and analysis around the following questions:
- Where are we now?
- How is waste currently managed?
- What do people think about the current management of waste?
- Where do we want to be?
- How is the growing population impacting waste management?
- What are our goals and how will we measure our progress?
- How do we get there?
- What policies, programs, infrastructure and bylaws will help us achieve our goals?
- What are the estimated costs to make changes?
Our survey is now closed. Thank you for your participation.
